A new year always brings along exciting feelings of change in both our personal and home style. We all admire our founder, Jillian, for her endless jewelry styling tricks and were so excited when she agreed to give Style Me Pretty a tour of her 1925's Victorian apartment, located in San Francisco's quintessential Pacific Heights neighborhood. Jillian knows her feminine style best so she's the one giving the full tour below. Follow along and enter for a chance to win a $250 giveaway to Joss & Main to update your home style!
THE BEDROOM

What I love most about my home is the old details, from the hardwood floors, oversized doors with crystal and brass doorknobs, to the bay windows, and stacked cove molding. I gravitate towards bright spaces and love mixing modern and vintage together to create unique vignettes around my home.
My bedroom is my girly oasis! It was important to anchor this room (it's the largest room in my apartment) with a dark neutral. To keep it light, I paired bright white furniture back to soft pastels like my pink and gray floral duvet from Dwell Studio. It's important to me that my bedroom feel serene and comfortable. I chase that feeling with candles, a few different lamps, luxe textures, soft colors and unique vignettes, which remind me of my passions and favorite people. I never feel guilty about spending a night in here reading!

As you can see from an earlier feature with Style Me Pretty about styling your jewelry at home, I think jewelry collections are like art and should be displayed around your room. When you can easily see your collection, you'll never leave home without jewelry on!

I’m originally from Buffalo and have lived in San Francisco for a total of seven years but a lot of my family and friends are still on the East Coast. I love printing out my favorite photos in black & white to display in frames around my room. No matter the distance, my home will always be filled with their love!

Most of the décor pieces have deeper meaning to me. Like this gorgeous pastel floral painting in my bedroom, which my grandmother painted for me, it reminds me how important passion and hobbies are.

THE LIVING ROOM

The living room is the first to be seen when you walk in the front door. This room is anchored with bright feminine neutrals, like the softest rug from Joss & Main, a marble coffee table and beige couch. From there, the personality is all in the details!

I layered the lighter rug over the deeper colored one to help the eye flow when you walk in. Balancing warm and cool colors in a room is where the magic happens. To achieve that perfect mix, I highly recommend Emily Henderson's coffee table book, Styled.

My favorite piece in this room is my 1930’s emerald green tassel chair that I found early on a Sunday morning at the Alameda Antique Market just outside of San Francisco. I see a lot of furniture along my Spark Hunting travels and still cannot believe what amazing condition this is in. I also found the pink tassel chair (that’s in bedroom) at the same time!

As you can see, aside from my love for hunting vintage jewelry, I also love to collect vintage brass décor, glassware and vases. I host vintage jewelry parties in my home so I always keep my bar cart stocked!

The vintage map of New York reminds me of my humble roots in Western New York. I'm also sucker for feminine vintage vases. I especially love vases with smaller openings because they only require a few stems which allows me to have more flowers scattered around the place.

As you can see from the stacks of books around my home, I love to read. I especially love non-fiction books, covering everything from business and spirituality, to the history of fashion and vintage jewelry.
THE OFFICE

I probably spend more time in my cozy little office than any other spot in the apartment! My desk is right up to the window and when it’s a clear day you can see a row of adorable Victorian homes and then as far as Twin Peaks. Not to mention the light in here is gorgeous all day and ends with a perfect golden hour.

Fun fact, the brass elephant on my desk doubles as a bracelet holder and a symbol of good luck.
THE KITCHEN
With the kitchen, I took it in a more rustic vibe with a mix of wood, than the other rooms in the house. To make it feel a touch more feminine, I've mixed boho accents like the bight blue ikat place mats and pink and white vintage vases.
