HISTORY BEHIND THE BRAND
Founded in 1952 by Hubert de Givenchy. The house's early notable moments include debuting the first ready-to-wear collection and designing the first shirt dress. From there, Givenchy cemented his rise to fame by dressing Hollywood starlet Audrey Hepburn for her iconic roles in Breakfast at Tiffany's, Sabrina and Funny Face. The 1980s brought about a new era for the fashion house after joining LVMH, followed by Hubert de Givenchy's retirement towards the end of the decade. Designers like John Galliano and Alexander McQueen would go on to design for the house through the 1990s.
VINTAGE IS ALWAYS BEST
Hubert de Givenchy understood the importance of appealing to more than one customer. He wanted his jewelry collection to be interchangeable with the seasons and unique aesthetics of his clientele. Many Givenchy pieces from the 1980s through the 1990s feature plated metals, faux pearls and rhinestones. The fashion house also stamped each piece with their signature interlocking "G" markings, most covetable designs feature this branding more prominently.
