Our Vintage Authentication Process: Chanel Jewelry
OUR VINTAGE AUTHENTICATION PROCESS: CHANEL JEWELRY
We've been collecting vintage accessories for almost a decade now and are experts in vintage authentication. While there is no one formal way to authenticate vintage, we stand behind every piece in our collection, backed by our 30 day return policy. We absolutely adore collecting vintage and treasuring them forever. It's important to us that you love your spark as much as we do!
During the 1980s and 90s, there are a handful of iconic motifs that Chanel designers favored including coins, hearts, clovers, quilted bags, pearls and swirls. Most all pieces also feature the iconic interlocking double c logo. Jewelry was rolled out twice per year in in two seasonal collections, spring and fall. Chanel did not date pieces between 1986-1989 but anything after that time period is signed with the season and date.
The three Chanel jewelry pieces that we love having as go-tos in our personal collections are a pair of oversized statement earrings, a gold brooch and a pair of coin earrings. Coin earrings came in a variety of sizes ranging from 3/4" to 1 1/2" in width. Interestingly, Chanel didn't start designing pierced earrings until the 2000s so most vintage earrings are clip-on. We prefer clip-on earrings because they prevent drooping on the ear but you always have the option of converting any all metal piece to pierced with the help of your local jeweler.
